This coming up week.
It’s almost here. We set up some of the space today and are getting ready for some interesting works!
Come on down, and tell everyone you know!
During the last week of April, re:active will co-host an afterschool arts and design workshop for teens called the Extraordinary Ordinary. It’s held at the Field Work space, run by students and faculty of PSU’s art and social practice and graphic design programs.
It’s a great opportunity for high school students to work with design professionals to observe and respond to their surroundings. They’ll explore their community and uncover what’s unique, quirky, and offbeat. Using design processes to interpret what they’ve collected, students will create engaging experiences and reintroduce those ideas as site-specific installations throughout downtown Portland.
The public will be invited to view the installations on the Friday evening following the program, April 29th, at a reception/walkthrough. We will meet at the Field Work space at 7pm. The process and installations will be documented in a catalog created with the Publication Studio.
